It is failing to free the DSP even when the tracks have been bounced in place (frozen) and even when the plugs have been 'powered down'. Audition is not following the AU standard or the 'power off' process that UA is expecting. I free up 30% dsp and somehow successfully bounce the main busses and master track to another track (it failed on bouncing to an external file) I then remove all the plugins from the bounced audio tracks (stupid right). I then try bouncing the main vocal buss, failed. I then individually bounce these tracks to additional tracks, mute and turn off all the plugs from the bounce. I try freezing the tracks that I can (one's that didn't have sidechaining). Odd as it is playing back just fine with reasonable DSP usage. I export and it fails, giving the error (as above) 'One or more plugins where disabled.'. It plays and edits just fine with 60% DSP usage.

I have lots of UAD plugs on all the tracks. Here is the problem and how I determined what was wrong: I honestly think it is a problem with Audition but I'd love it if UA (how about it Gannon?!) could lobby Adobe on our behalf. It's one of those absolutely invaluable utilities I cannot imagine living without.I want to revive this because I lived this nightmare today trying to export audio for a commercial that was due out today at 5pm. I look forward to seeing the MediaInfo text report - once it is installed (and it is free - did I mention that already?) you can interrogate any media file with a simple right-click. mgrenadier is absolutely bang on the money when he states above that compressed audio may cause the issues and I would say the bitrate tells us all we really need to know (the audio is extremely heavily data reduced - I do not like the use of the word 'compressed' for this, as to an audio engineer like myself the expression 'compressed' means something entirely different to data reduction)

Maintain the highest quality you possibly can right up until the last minute for best results. Lossy formats should only EVER be used as final output - never as recording and never as interim files.

We only have a Hero4 here but that can be set to either WAV or mp4 for audio - saet the bugger to WAV, always set to WAV and where possible set to a 48kHz sample rate (you have already done this - that advice is for the benefit of others reading this thread) and also make sure your video is set to as high a quality as you can achieve - especially if you are editing later - as editing lossy video accompanied by lossy audio is always going to be very hit & miss.

As you are running a PC, can you please go get & install a copy of Mediainfo and post back screenshots of the text report for each of the 3 above files? This is a wonderful tool & will tell us much about what is going on with your audio, but until we can see the details suffice it to say that lossy audio of any description is just not your friend. It seems that neither of the HERO files are using lossless sound, although the GH5 might just be.
